Udhavi sale at St Hilda's. Students present stroller.

A team from Udhavi visited St Hilda's school last weekend to display and promote the coloured paper bags, candles and other items that children and volunteers at the centre create with a view to generate sales among the visiting parents at the residential school in Ooty.
According to volunteer, Tina Jagatbir, the response was overwhelming. 'We completely ran out of the candles. The little children at St Hilda's seemed fascinated by the items, especially the candles. The students have even placed an order for 30 candles!'
After the sale, students of Class 4 of St Hilda's school, presented the team with a stroller that they had purchased for Udhavi by putting together their pocket money. The Principal, Mrs Pamela Clarke who joined the Udhavi team for lunch at the school dining hall, thanked the volunteers for visiting the school and also finalised the date for the next visit of the school's Interact Club to Udhavi.
